Help preserve the birthplace of St. Sava!
The Diocese of Raška-Prizen is asking for donations to fund the completion of a memorial temple dedicated to Serbia's greatest Saint. We invite all parishioners of St. Sava in Milwaukee, St. Nicholas in Cudahy, and both St. George parishes in Racine to come and hear from bishop Teodosije of Raška-Prizen during the St. Sava Memorial Temple Fundraiser on Sunday, December 3rd, at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Milwaukee. The event will begin with Hierarchal Divine Liturgy led by the bishop Teodosije at 9:30 a.m. Afterward, we will receive a blessing from our his grace and hear firsthand from Bishop Teodosije about the project and the lives of our Orthodox brothers and sisters in Kosovo and Metohija.

Dear Orthodox brothers and sisters across America and Canada, The greatest Serbian saint, Saint Sava, was born, according to tradition, in 1169 as Rastko Nemanjic, in the village of Deževa, not far from Novi Pazar. Precisely in this place, the Diocese of Raška-Prizren of the Serbian Orthodox Church decided to build a memorial temple and complex that will bear the name of Saint Sava. The work is already in progress, and a priest has been appointed to perform the services. The church was built on the foundations of the sanctuary where King Dragutin handed over the throne to his brother Milutin in 1282, and just three hundred meters away is the place where Saint Sava was born. We are currently working on a project to decorate the complex, which should become a place of pilgrimage for believers from Serbia, Montenegro and the entire region, says Archimandrite Andrej. But in order for the works to be continued and brought to an end, it is NECESSARY to complete the purchase of a nearby private house with adjacent property in the area were the construction of the complex is planned. That's why we invite you and ask you to make it possible with your contributions and donations to complete this work with your help and God's help.
